About the Event
Kitchari is an Ayurvedic staple dish. It is warm, well spiced and easy to digest. Perfect to incorporate during the Spring season for a 1-7 day cleanse or anytime you're feeling sluggish and want to replace a meal with.
Ginger digestive aid is something to make to keep on hand in the fridge to stoke your digestive fire and encourage the building of digestive juices before meals.
Golden milk is anti-inflammatory, supports digestion and immunity. Easy and nourishing.
What you'll need:
1 cup Basmati rice
1 cup Split yellow mung beans
Fenugreek (optional but I love to add it)
Fresh parsley OR cilantro
Milk of choice
Ghee (or avocado oil if vegan)
Seasonal veggies of choice: I'll be using asparagus, carrots and spinach
You can find pre-made kitchari spice blends from Farmtrue: https://farmtrue.com/product/cleansing-spice-blend/
and Banyan Botanicals: https://www.banyanbotanicals.com/kitchari-spice-mix/
If you're not interested in making kitchari from scratch and would rather have an easier avenue and watch and learn in the meantime, Farmture and Divyas kitchen both provide pre-made kitchari packets where you can just add water and any vegetables of choice!
